How Currency Works in HWIT Fundamentals

HWIT Fundamentals keeps things simple. It does not convert currencies or do exchange-rate math, but it easily allows you to have customers with many different currencies!

Each customer is handled in their own currency, exactly as you set them up.

When you create a customer in your accounting system (QuickBooks or Zoho), you choose the currency that customer is billed in. HWIT then uses that same currency automatically when creating invoices, or whenever you enter in a monetary amount.   The amount entered is always in the customer’s currency regardless of your base currency.

What this means in practice:

• If a customer is billed in US Dollars, entering 80 means $80

• If a customer is billed in Euros, entering 80 means €80

• If a customer is billed in Pounds, entering 80 means £80

There is no conversion happening behind the scenes. HWIT simply treats the numbers you enter as the customer’s currency.

This approach avoids confusion, keeps pricing clear, and ensures invoices match exactly what your accounting system expects.
